"Implementing the Dream"
2009 Kettering-Oakwood Martin Luther King, Jr.
School & Community Group Contest

"I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character." Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. August 28, 1963

Have you (or a group you're involved in) applied Dr. Martin Luther King's dream? Have you expressed a desire to see people of all races, cultures and backgrounds work together to achieve a common goal? This contest is open to any student as a means to show the community how you have been applying the dream through the arts, writing or community service.

Entries will be judged by local citizens with a variety of backgrounds. Overall winners will be chosen for each grade level division and honorable mention winners will be chosen in each category. Your entry should be neat, free of grammatical errors and submitted on time. Since this is the first year for this broad contest, there are no specific requirements other than those listed below just show us how you have been Implementing the Dream!

Open to students in grades K-12. Students may enter as individuals or groups. Students may enter through their school, civic group or faith community.
